Poem Analysis - Essay Example ng the lines in Yeatsââ¬â¢ ââ¬Å"Second Comingâ⬠with Sassoonââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"Glory of Womenâ⬠, I would say that one of their similarities would be how their poem described the dire conditions of the World War and how it seeps out the life and joy of people. An example of some intersections between the lines of the ââ¬Å"Second Comingâ⬠and ââ¬Å"Glory of Womenâ⬠would be, ââ¬Å"Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold; Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world, The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere. The ceremony of innocence is drownedâ⬠from The Second Coming; and ââ¬Å"You crown our distant ardours while we fight, And mourn our laurelled memories when were killed. You cant believe that British troops retire. When hells last horror breaks them, and they run, Trampling the terrible corpses--blind with blood,â⬠from ââ¬Å"Glory of Womenâ⬠, which both talks about the casualties of war (Glory of Women, n.d.). All three poems have a similar theme, expressing the occurrences during the World War. All three are interconnected in such a way that ââ¬Å"Glory of Womenâ⬠details the experiences of people during the World War; ââ¬Å"Dulce Et Decorumâ⬠then foretells of the aftermath of the World War, where the living conditions are undesirable; while ââ¬Å"The Second Comingâ⬠gives hope to an escape from the cruel world through the hope of the coming of a savior that will end all suffering and
